Last month, my pilot hubby and I embarked on a luxurious vacation escape to the brand-new Secrets Impression Isla Mujeres, an exquisite property on the stunning island of Isla Mujeres.
The Journey Begins
We kicked off our journey in style, flying United First Class from our base in Houston, Texas (IAH), to Cancun. After a minor delay, we had a smooth flight, and the excitement was undeniable as we approached our Mexican paradise.
Arrival in Cancun
Upon arrival in Cancun, we stuck with our trusty CARM transfers to whisk us away to Hacienda Del Mar, where an exclusive experience awaited us. Imagine this: a private catamaran from Secrets Impression Isla Mujeres came to pick us up, and we sailed towards the island, greeted by the turquoise waters of the Caribbean. Truly magical. We arrived in true White Lotus style, with hotel staff eagerly waiting for us on the dock.
A Taste of Luxury
Our journey continued as we were taken to the yacht arrival lounge. But first, we couldn’t resist indulging in a quick bite at La Vista. Those grilled fish tacos were simply the best way to start our island adventure.
Our Signature Ocean Front King room was nothing short of a dream. The panoramic views of the turquoise waters from our patio were breathtaking, complete with a hot tub and a hammock for ultimate relaxation. The bed and pillows were so comfy that we had the best night’s sleep.
Luxury Amenities Galore
Our room came with beach bags, hats, and snorkel gear, a thoughtful touch for exploring the island. The spacious and beautifully designed bathroom was stocked with Le Labo toiletries, and the ample closet space, robes, and slippers added to the full luxury experience.
Exquisite Dining Experiences
The Secrets Impression Isla Mujeres is all-inclusive but at a high-end level. We had the pleasure of dining at some remarkable restaurants like Sake, Spezia, Unik, and Wildfire Grill. The food was exceptional, with dishes that left a lasting impression. The lobster macaroni and cheese and poblano corn chowder at Wildfire were divine. Spezia’s cacio e Pepe and lobster pasta were culinary delights. Unik’s Greek salad and mushroom risotto were simply exquisite. And the sushi at Sake was a fresh and flavorful masterpiece.
Activities Galore
One of the highlights of our stay was the abundance of complimentary activities offered at the resort. Each day, we had the opportunity to choose from a range of free activities. E-bike tours of the island allowed us to explore Isla Mujeres’ charm at our own pace, while paddleboarding and snorkel tours took us beneath the crystal-clear waters to discover the vibrant marine life. We even tried our hand at cooking during a delightful culinary lesson and indulged in tequila and mezcal tastings, adding a touch of Mexican culture to our stay.

Secrets Impression Isla Mujeres is nestled on the beautiful island of Isla Mujeres, just a 25-minute boat ride from Cancun. This luxurious adults-only resort boasts 124 stunning suites, each offering breathtaking views and modern amenities. The resort features an array of pools, including the rooftop pool with its spectacular vistas & stunning sunset views.
The Island of Isla Mujeres
Isla Mujeres is a captivating destination with a rich history. Named by the Spanish for the many statues of the goddess Ixchel found on the island, it was once a sanctuary for Mayan women. Today, it’s a blend of history, culture, and natural beauty, with pristine beaches, charming streets, and lively markets.
We took a day to explore the island by taxi and golf cart. Our favorite spots included Soggy Peso and Villa La Bella for the best margaritas. We also stopped by the Green Dragon beach club to enjoy the ocean view and a delicious lunch.
Mayan Vow Renewal
One of the highlights of our trip was the Mayan vow renewal ceremony. It was a beautiful and meaningful experience, where we reaffirmed our love amidst the ancient ruins and lush tropical surroundings. We exchanged vows and enjoyed traditional Mayan blessings, making it a cherished memory.
Back to Bliss
Our vacation at Secrets Impression Isla Mujeres was the epitome of luxury and relaxation, complete with butler service and high-end amenities. It was a much-needed escape, and we returned home rejuvenated and even more in love.
We’re already dreaming of our next adventure, but until then, we’ll cherish the memories of this vacation. Secrets Impression Isla Mujeres exceeded our expectations in every way, and we can’t wait to return for more adventures in paradise.
