As our sun-kissed getaway in Cozumel, Mexico, drew to a close, we decided to celebrate our last evening on the island 🏝️ with a culinary adventure at Buccanos at Night. This charming restaurant, perched on the coast, offered us not only an unforgettable meal but also a breathtaking view of the sunset. 🌅
A Serendipitous Discovery
Our journey to Buccanos at Night was a serendipitous one. It was recommended by a fellow guest at Hotel B Unique, where we were staying. The restaurant was a pleasant 20-minute walk from our hotel with the cool evening breeze.

We arrived at the restaurant without a reservation but found ourselves there just as it opened its doors for the evening. Luck 🍀 was on our side, and we were given the coveted indoor window-side seating, providing us with a front-row view of the setting sun—a picturesque backdrop to our dining experience sans the breezy, cool wind.

An Irresistible Prelude
Our dining adventure commenced with a delightful surprise—an offering of cute little mini cupcake popover-type breads. These tiny savory morsels were impossible to resist, with their warm, pillowy texture and slightly sweet flavor. We could have easily devoured a dozen, but we exercised restraint and limited ourselves to one each.

A Taste of Mexico: Crispy Oaxaca Cheese
Our culinary journey took a flavorful turn as we indulged in the crispy Oaxaca 🧀 cheese served with orange 🍊 jalapeño salsa & grilled oranges. This dish was a Mexican rendition of fried mozzarella, a crispy delight that oozed with tons of flavor. Despite its indulgent nature, it was expertly prepared, leaving no hint of grease. The serving came with three portions, but we once again demonstrated commendable restraint and savored just one each. 🙌🏽

The Star of the Evening: Miso Butter Lobster Tail
For the main course, we decided to share a dish that promised to be the star of our evening—the miso butter lobster 🦞 tail. This delectable creation was served atop the creamiest coconut 🥥 rice, an inspired pairing that elevated the lobster to new heights. The lobster itself was cooked to perfection, tender and succulent, with a flavorful miso butter glaze that left us craving each bite. Very generous portion & very shareable.

A Sweet Conclusion
As the evening unfolded, we savored the flavors and ambiance, sipping on espresso martinis to complement our meal. To our pleasant surprise, the martinis arrived with a little dollop of vanilla ice cream, providing a delightful and unexpected twist to the classic cocktail. With our hearts and bellies full, we decided to forgo dessert, as there was no room left for indulgence.

Despite the sumptuous feast we enjoyed, Buccanos at Night pleasantly surprised us with a final treat—the bill. Remarkably, our exquisite dinner for two came in at under $100, making this culinary adventure an exceptional value for the quality and service we received. 🫶🏽
